How can we transform the front entryway into a functional mud room/laundry/bathroom space without having it as the first room someone enters?

So we picked up a new project and this is the front entrance area. The washer and dryer connections are on the left side wall. There’s a door in the floor that leads to the basement. Right across from that is the only bathroom in the house. I’m thinking of transforming this space into a mud room/laundry/bathroom combo. I want to get rid of the floor door but also don’t want the bathroom to be the first thing people see when they walk in. Any ideas on how to make this work?
