How can we safely seal the holes around the wood stove pipe in the upstairs bathroom to prevent downdrafts and air leaks?

We’ve got a wood stove downstairs with a pipe that goes through the walls on the second floor, up to the attic, and out through the roof. The folks before us made three big holes in the bathroom around the pipe to get more warmth, but now we’re dealing with the bathroom fan pulling air down when the stove’s off and a downdraft of poop roof pipe into the house. Any thoughts on how to seal these up securely and safely?

5\8 firerock drywall. Use paper tape and hot mud for the initial coat. Try Durabond greenbag. Finish off with durabond easy sand white bag for final coats.
