How can we repair the storm door where the part with the green tape, which holds the glass in place, is no longer secure?

So, when we were moving in, something happened to the storm door and it got broken. The piece with the green tape is supposed to keep the glass in place, but it’s not working anymore. Any thoughts on how we can fix it?

You can request replacement parts directly from the manufacturer.

Daniel Johansen

Hey , can you snap a photo of the door and look up the manufacturer on Google?

Consider using Gorilla glue

Maya Brown

You have the option to purchase a new retainer strip.

Consider getting a new retainer strip

Yolanda Garica

It’s recommended to use the appropriate strip, but you could also adhere it with a small amount of polyurethane glue

Batur Dalkıran

It might not be the most aesthetically pleasing solution, but by eliminating the damaged section of the retaining strip and applying a line of all-weather silicone caulk, you can secure it in position, similar to how large glass panels are securely held in place for showers using silicone

Is that glass tempered?

Olivia Madsen

‘t forget to caulk,

Davi Freitas

Oh, it’s quite possible, . However, it doesn’t really matter in this case.

Olivia Madsen

Yep, is spot on!🌟

Daniel Johansen

You have the option to purchase that component

Simply bring your photo to Lowe’s or any other store, and show them the item you want to purchase. You can also order a retainer strip online by first removing yours to examine its profile, and then selecting the most similar one.

Davi Freitas

If you visit a glass shop and explain your situation, they might be able to offer a solution like replacing the stopper.
