How can we prepare to paint and protect our dark tin ceiling backsplash in our kitchen, considering removing it isn’t an option and wanting to coordinate with alabaster cabinets?

So, our kitchen backsplash is this real tin ceiling that runs all the way through. It gives the kitchen a bit of a dark vibe, which we’re not crazy about, but taking it down is definitely out of the question. Any ideas on how we can get it ready for painting and make sure it stays in good shape? I’m thinking maybe a nice alabaster color would lighten things up. Oh, and the cabinets are solid wood, so painting or getting rid of those isn’t an option either. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! 😵💫😵💫
Have you thought about leaving the backsplash as is and painting the kitchen cabinets and walls white or cream? Adding some copper accents could give you a really unique look. ood luck with your decision!
No way, those cabinets are solid wood and cost a pretty penny. They need to stay as they are. I’m thinking of painting the backsplash in alabaster or linen.
How about some bright white handles?
Switch over to a white or stainless steel stove.
Is looking to save money by not purchasing any new appliances while fixing up her home to sell.
I really wouldn’t recommend painting that backsplash if you’re planning to sell. Just trust me on this one.
How about switching out the countertops with some brown/copper inclusions to bring everything together? White appliances would also be a good match. And why not add some under cabinet lighting for an extra touch?

What kind of under cabinet lighting do you have? Can it be adjusted to make it brighter? If it were up to me, I would explore all options before considering changing the backsplash in my home. It’s not only beautiful but also adds value.
I personally prefer changing the counter tops. I love the tin.
You can brighten up the backsplash a bit more and use a cooler light temperature. The counters, cupboards, and appliances are the dark parts that you can also update.
