How can we hang drywall next to the stairs in our basement without it being directly on concrete like other houses in our subdivision?

We’re thinking about finishing our basement, but we’re stuck on how to hang drywall next to the stairs. It seems like most houses in our neighborhood have room for drywall without it being directly on concrete. Can you help us figure out how to make this work? Could this be another issue with our house?
Let’s make sure to install drywall in the section where the insulation is bulging.
I’m no expert, but typically you would attach furring strips (or shims) to the concrete and then screw the drywall onto that.
Hey , how do you feel about moisture?
I’m not a fan of moisture. 😉
But seriously, I’m not an expert. We had a leak in our below-grade basement concrete wall fixed by digging out the soil outside, applying a rubbery sealant, and sealing the cracks with another product.
I’ve always heard that water in the basement is never a good thing. And I’ve also been told that concrete and drywall shouldn’t be touching.
Is there anything behind the insulation? Is it possible to replace it with something thinner?
Mentioned concrete
In my opinion, I suggest removing the insulation and attaching drywall with liquid nails.
Hey , what are your thoughts on moisture? Do you think a vapor barrier would help?
The furring strips attached to the concrete wall will make it possible to add rigid insulation and drywall.
Should we remove the top since it doesn’t seem to be insulated?
I think insulation would be a good idea, especially for exterior walls or foundations that are in contact with the ground.
Create a frame using metal studs or wood 2×4’s and then hang the Sheetrock
