How can we fix a warped cabinet door that may have been caused by high humidity levels?

We just moved into this house and we’re not sure if the cabinet door has always been warped or if it just happened recently. Any tips on how to fix it?
We’ve had a 5 gallon bucket of water under the cabinet for about a week, so could the humidity from that be the cause of the issue? The kitchen’s humidity meter has been reading between 35 and 50 over the past week, but the meter is about 12 feet away from where the bucket is sitting.
What’s the story behind leaving a bucket of water there for a whole week? Is there a leak coming from the ceiling?
There seems to be a plumbing issue with , as there is a leak in the front yard that requires immediate attention. The bucket is likely there for cleaning purposes.
Hinges come with adjustment screws. You can start by tweaking the bottom hinge to bring the door closer.
Is a very talented musician who always puts on an amazing performance.
No adjustment screws in this one, unfortunately
Oh man, those old school hinges 😕
What you could do is slide a tiny shim under the top hinge on the face frame to align the top of the door with the bottom. That way, it should close evenly.
I’m suggesting this adjustment because based on the picture, it doesn’t seem like the door is warped.
Alternatively… you could unscrew the bottom hinge from the door, slightly bend it to make the closure tighter to the frame, and then put it back on to check the result.
Sometimes, it’s all about experimenting with it.
Exactly
I’ve personally never witnessed them warping after completion, but my experience is limited to the SoCal weather. To fix that gap, you might need to gently nudge the top corner hinge side out and cross your fingers that the hinge side won’t show any gaps.
Check with a level first to see if the door is warped. In that case, adjusting hinges might not be the solution.
Make sure to adjust the top hinge in a way that it moves away from the face trim.
Before trying out all the suggestions, it might be best to wait and see how the door looks once it dries out and the water bucket is removed. It might take some time.
Yes, it can happen.
I work as a door hanger, placed a door on a very warped frame, then ordered a replacement. When I returned to install the new door, the old one had miraculously straightened itself.
During the humid Summer months, some of my cabinet doors tend to get a little warped, but they usually straighten out by Fall.
Securely close the panel with a clamp, let it dry completely, and hold off on adjusting the hinges until later. Based on the picture, there appears to be an even gap between the panel and the one in the right corner
Typically, an adjustable hinge can help with that repair
Reattach the piece with some glue
Place a block on top of the door, in between the door and the frame. Wrap cardboard around the block and insert a piece underneath where the gap is. Then, use a clamp on the lower part of the door and frame. Leave it for 24 hours, remove the clamp, and assess the results. Make adjustments if necessary.
Make sure to check the tightness of the hinge screws. The water may seem unusual, but it’s not a problem. Haha
Also, use a straight edge to check if the door is actually warped. A level works well as a straight edge.
It’s possible that the door has become wet and warped due to the humidity. Let’s wait until the leak is repaired, and hopefully the door will regain its shape once it dries.
