Hey, we need some advice… We’re thinking about putting in some Treks steps leading out to the lawn, but we’re stuck on how to make them flow nicely since we have two different levels. Any suggestions would be awesome!
I made sure to put a concrete paver under each stringer. Can I ask, what’s the frost level in your area? Are you going with pressure treated wood for the joists? And how exactly are you planning to support the girders? Your responses to these will guide our next steps.
Thanks for getting back to me! We’re new to this project and don’t have much knowledge, so we’re reaching out for a lot of help and information. We’re located in Seattle, Washington. Our frost level can drop to 5-10 inches. Yes, we’re planning to use pressure treated wood for our joists.
Seattle is a great place. The joists I saw didn’t seem to be pressure treated. I’ve completed the steps for the waterfall. Consider getting a good how-to guide on decks. It looks like you might encounter some clearance issues with the existing framing. Trex is a reliable product. I’ve tried out a few different brands. The weather in Seattle makes it a solid choice
