How can we achieve a clean and even trim in our nursery renovation project with uneven walls and windows in an old house?

Hey, I need some serious help and opinions. We’re trying to set up our nursery (baby’s coming in a week!) and it’s just not looking right to me. Our house is super old, and our plan is to gut and remodel the whole upstairs after we finish downstairs. We had to replace some windows, so we figured we might as well remodel this room for now and leave the closet as is. We got rid of the plaster, put up drywall, and installed the windows, and it’s all starting to come together. But I’m at a loss on how to make the trim look even, especially with everything being so uneven. Any ideas?
What size is the upper gap? You can find 5″ trim at Home Depot, Menards, or Lowes. Buy 2 pieces that are 10 feet long and cut them to fit.
Cut the pieces on the left and right so they fit the space properly.
OR you could get a short section of 5″ trim for the top and then use a different size trim for the sides. Just cut it at the right angle to make sure it lines up with the other pieces. Add some caulk and white paint and you’re all set.
