How can I update the front of my house for a more welcoming feel while maintaining its cottage/ranch style from 1955?

So here’s a funny scenario for ya – the back of our house is actually the front, since that’s where the driveway is and it’s the first thing people see when they come over.
I’m looking for some ideas to spruce it up and make it more inviting! I was thinking shutters would be a nice touch, but the windows are all different sizes, so not sure if it would work. Also want to find a way to hide the A/C unit and power meter. I think some landscaping could really make a difference, but I’m not the most creative person, so I’m open to any out-of-the-box ideas!
The house was built in 1955 and I’d like to keep that cottage/ranch style, but give it a more modern update.
If you have a big budget, updating the garage door to one without windows could be a good idea. A patio between the garage and front door, maybe with a pergola or roof, would be a nice touch. Decorate the patio with furniture and potted plants to cover up the meter and AC unit. You could also try adding a wide moulding around the door to make it stand out more, but the size might be a concern.
Thanks a lot for your input! I’ve been considering painting the windows on the garage door as a budget-friendly option, do you think that would be effective? reat idea about the wide molding on the door, it didn’t even cross my mind!
Hope this helps! If you’re on a budget, consider getting lattice screen partitions with planters at the base. ood luck!🤗
Consider putting up a shallow pergola above both the garage and back doors, painted white. Add some color to your door and plant a tall shrub in front of the electrical meter. ‘t forget some blooming shrubs in the empty space between the two doors.
