How can I safely patch a wall to mount a TV with fire safety bricks, and is this a DIY project?

Hey there! I need a little help with a project I have coming up. Any tips on how to properly patch a wall for mounting a TV? Do I need to use fire safety bricks or something similar? And do you think it’s a job I can tackle on my own? Appreciate any advice you can offer!

Wait, is that actually a functioning wood burning stove? I wouldn’t risk putting a tv close to it.
