How can I replace the tile in my shower without it breaking or the new stickers and paint being affected by humidity?

Hey there,
Any ideas on the best way to replace this tile without causing any damage? The stickers and paint keep coming off in the shower due to all the moisture…
It’s best to keep the shower door open when it’s not in use.
Hey, is it true that nobody informed us about this issue that has been here since 2000? 😨
Opening a window in the bathroom while showering can help decrease humidity levels and prevent mold and mildew growth.
Consider re-glazing as an option. It may be a bit pricey and it’s a one-time renovation. Similar to re-facing, it can be costly but results in a clean look without hidden problems.
The issue isn’t the paint; it’s actually your fan. It could be due to various reasons like being too far, obstructed, not powerful enough, or not running during and after a shower. Additionally, if a teenager takes an hour-long shower without the fan, that could also cause issues 😆. Upon closer inspection, it seems like the device on the wall might not even be a fan. Even if it is, its placement and size are not ideal for adequate power. Since steam rises to the top, the fan needs to be on the ceiling just outside the shower.
We have a fan in the bathroom above the shower. It’s not very powerful and doesn’t blow much air, but it meets the standards required in our country. We are also planning to install a towel dryer. We had some issues with mold previously, but we have resolved the problem and brought everything up to standard. There is nothing more we can do about it.
Just doesn’t cut it for me in terms of meeting standards.
Poorly positioned
Does it suck? It should be sucking air and moisture out of the room
Try the Kleenex test – put a Kleenex over it, it should easily stick if enough air is being pulled out. If not, then there’s a problem
If it’s blowing, then you have bigger problems
Standards change over time, showers now release more water than before, so the higher the flow of hot water, the more moisture needs to be removed.
Sorry for the mix-up, , English is not my first language. The fan works well but the tissue/paper sticks.
I’m in the same boat, , English is not my native language either lol
You might have to break them to remove.
I totally understand where you’re coming from. I also prefer not to take them out, but rather find a way to conceal them or give them a new color.
Oh, got it! My suggestion would be to apply a reliable bonding primer like Stix before painting, although there’s a chance it won’t have a long-lasting effect.
The tub/shower setup looks kinda interesting with the tile and the awkward glass circle thing. It’s hard to see what’s on the ground on the other side. Maybe you could get rid of the weird glass, add a shower insert, and use a curtain or new shower glass that goes straight across. A larger shower with a new look could be a win-win. I’m not sure how big your current shower pan area is.
If you clean thoroughly with alcohol, the self-adhesive vinyl should do the trick. I used it in two entire 1939 bathrooms, and it was still securely in place 10 years later!
I’ve witnessed the Kurdy membrane being applied over both old and new tile connected to the kerdy (sp?).
