How can I remove paint splatters from my vinyl plank flooring and replace P traps under the sink in my newly purchased home without causing damage or making mistakes?

I have a question! I’m not very skilled at fixing things, so please bear with me. I recently bought a new home and noticed that the people who renovated it didn’t do a very good job. I’m wondering how I can: 1. Remove paint splatters from my vinyl plank flooring without damaging it, and 2. Replace the P traps under the sink. Can you help me out with some advice?

This limited-time offer is for the FOSHIO Plastic Razor Blade Scraper, which includes 2PCS of the scraper tool and 100PCS of blades. It’s perfect for removing gaskets, labels, decals, and adhesive from windows and glass. The color is blue.

If the paint is latex, it should come off quite easily with scraping.

If the paint is latex, warm water should do the trick.

I recently saw a YouTube tutorial on replacing the p-trap under the sink. It was pretty helpful!

I’ve noticed the same paint problem on my LVP floors. I’ve been using a white scrub pad (less harsh than the green ones) with a bit of soapy water to clean it by hand. It can be time-consuming, but it does work well.

Using a plastic razor blade along with a hot damp towel usually does the trick for removing paint from floors. Check out some YouTube videos on P trap for more tips!

I found that the paint came off easily with just some water-based remover. All I had to do was wet a rag and scrub.

Before proceeding, test a small area of your floor. For tough stains, such as permanent marker, I recommend using acetone. I once had to remove permanent marker that my son accidentally got on the floor, and acetone did the trick.

Removing the paint spatters should be a breeze. You can try using an old credit card or plastic putty knife to scrape them off. Follow up with a toothpick or a brush with stiff plastic bristles to tackle any remaining residue. This method has proven to be effective for me as I have lvp flooring throughout my house and encounter paint spatters often.

When you pour some boiling water over the paint, it will transform into gummy flakes that can be easily wiped away.

Avoid using scouring pads on the floor to prevent removing the top layer and causing dullness. Instead, try using something like a credit card to gently scrape in the direction of the grain (if the tiles are textured). In the UK, we have wipes specifically for LVT/LVP that effectively resolve these issues in most cases without damaging the floor. My partner installs LVPs and uses them regularly, I’ll find out the brand for you to see if you have a similar option 😉

Lysol or Clorox wipes are great for removing paint splatter

Pinesol works wonders on splatters. Discover some great DIY home improvement channels on YouTube. This Old House always comes through. Honestly, I’d be lost without YouTube.

If dealing with that issue is the worst part of your renovation, then you’re pretty lucky 😂😂😂

I ended up throwing away half of my belongings just 3 days after moving in.

Yeah, my house was recently ‘flipped.’ Just remember to count your blessings!

Before you start any project, make sure to watch at least four different YouTube videos to understand what you’re getting into. Some videos are really helpful, others not so much, but most fall somewhere in between.

P-trap, like others mentioned, check out a couple of videos. Also, when you head to Home Depot, grab everything you think you might need. You can always return what you don’t end up using, saving yourself multiple trips to the store.
