How can I properly connect the hose from the dishwasher to the garbage disposal to prevent drainage issues on my counter?

I believe we should connect the hose from the dishwasher to the garbage disposal and then connect the garbage disposal to this extra hose. Right now, it’s draining out onto my counter. Do you have any ideas on how to fix this?

When the drain tube gets clogged where it connects to your disposal or drain pipe, simply remove it and attempt to clear the blockage.

Make sure to remove the knockout from the garbage disposal by unhooking the black line and knocking it out.
Just wanted to say thanks, the clog has been cleared and everything is working fine now.
I also swapped out the black pipe and the unit at the top.
