I’m not happy with those lights. I spent a good amount on mine but it began to rust after just 2 years. I had to do a lot of work to fix it.

Mason Kennedy

The cost and time to clean it up are not worth it, just buy a new one from Home Depot or Walmart for less than $25.

Zoryana Mogila

You might want to invest in a higher quality bathroom fan.

Jochen Bruch

Those lights are really affordable. You should consider getting a new one.

Nina Raspopović

To clean it, start by removing the bulbs and then carefully take off the trim around the sockets. Then, remove the panel and use a gentle SOS pad to clean it.

Nepobor Chubenko

Swap it out.

These fixtures are the most affordable you can find right now. It’s not worth the hassle trying to remove the rust. Spend about 20 dollars at Home Depot for a new shiny fixture. If it were up to me, I’d toss out the old one and invest in a brushed nickel fixture that you truly adore, and it will last much longer.

Lorianne Dennany, exactly.
Just flip the breaker off. Check out some YouTube tutorials.
I handle all my electrical work myself.

Lorianne Dennany, it really makes you feel empowered!

Valentina Sundet

I bought mine for $6 on amazon a decade ago. Consider splurging a bit more for a better quality.

Silas Poulsen

I suggest just replacing it. I also recommend using a dehumidifier in the bathroom and running it while you shower😉

Anni Ramo

Toss out the entire house and begin fresh

Lorianne Dennany, I appreciate you joining me for my Ted talk

Marisol Palomo

Null

Lorraine Hill

Swap it out for a light that’s more up-to-date

I believe they’re around $50 at Lowe’s. I got a new one. Simple. Or you could always paint it haha

Solomiya Suhoviienko

O ahead and get a new one and make sure to put in a good FAN. Remote fans are the way to go. Those fan/light combos are no good.

Vladana Bekić

You could opt for replacement, but cleaning with steel wool and applying a clear lacquer aerosol could also work.

Keira Cooper

Spray some WD40 on a cloth and use it to polish the surface.

بیتا سهيلي راد

Rub the surface using a balled-up aluminum foil.

Maja Jørgensen

Sure, remove it and dispose of it. Have a great day

Christine Hovind

O ahead and switch on the exhaust fan

سوگند كامياران

Replace that

Julius Warsame

You can get a replacement for just 50 dollars

Anaya Josdal

Remember to turn on the fan while taking a shower

Morgane Gaillard

It’s best to replace that because it’s not very attractive.

Jacob Singh

Save yourself the trouble… Cheap quality from the builder.

Abhijith Shroff

Rab a cloth and some brass polish to remove any signs of corrosion.
Next, make sure the unit is turned off.
Clean the unit with acetone or alcohol and let it dry.
Put paper towels in each bulb socket.
et a can of Rustoleum clear spray paint in satin finish.
Spray 2 to 3 thin coats and let it dry.
Hang up the fixture with the bulbs again.
ood luck!

Wilma Jennings

Points out that Rustoleum will be almost as expensive as replacing the unit. While he agrees with your approach, he mentions that this unit is one of the lowest quality options on the market. Repairing it may not be worth the effort.

Abhijith Shroff

Suggests using Krylon or another clear coat for sealing. He is familiar with fixture prices after 34 years of remodeling work.

Beau Wang

Exchange it for $40

Wilma Jennings

I know this unit pretty well. The best solution is to swap it out.

This is an inexpensive unit sold at Home Depot, Lowes, or Menards. It’s commonly used by house flippers. It has a short lifespan and limited repair options.

Carmim Carvalho

Swap it out

Dejan Isaković

You should really consider replacing that $29 piece of junk. Seriously, it’s only going to get worse and it’s so flimsy that you might only be able to clean it once before it falls apart completely.

رادین کریمی

It’s not expensive to replace.

Alexandra Watkins

Try using tin foil to gently rub it off, that should do the trick.

Shayan Reed

This is seriously the best!
