Hey, do you know how I can keep my LVP near the door? There’s this metal bar in the way that seems really strong, and I’m worried I might damage it if I try to move it. I really want to hide the LVP underneath, but I’m not sure how to do it without causing any damage. Any ideas?
The metal strip is a crucial part of your door frame and should not be taken out. Simply install the LVP up to that point and use quarter round trim to cover the seam.
Hey , can you share a pic to help me understand what you are talking about?
Hey, just shared a cool video, check it out: https://youtu.be/v9m9KeWTTJM?si=9wgo8tDs5tvXvN
Make sure to tuck the lvp under the door threshold for a polished finish.
Hey, , never install LVP under anything – especially a threshold. The threshold needs caulking to block water.
If water got in that far, the door wasn’t installed right.
Totally agree with you, !
Simply apply caulk between the metal and LVP, making sure to find a color that matches well. Trim the boards to the height of the flooring and tuck them underneath.
Align it with the door threshold and seal it with caulk.
Trim the door casing before installing LVP, making sure to leave the necessary gap. Seal the gap with caulk and cover it with shoe molding or quarter round.
Has the ideal response.
You can find 1/2 inch PVC quarter round or cove trim at most hardware stores!
After caulking, add shoe molding stained to match for a seamless touch.
Undercut the jams and then apply clear caulk at the threshold
I extended my LVP flooring up to the door, then sealed it with flex seal caulk. I also used this method around the tub and shower, and it has proven to be effective.
