What can I use to improve the seal at the bottom of this glass storm door?
Weatherstripping
Seems like the threshold is not completely level after all.
When installing, make sure to position the inside bottom of the door when it’s closed. Remember to leave the vinyl slightly longer than the aluminum extrusion.
Check the inside of the storm door frame for the door’s brand and model number. Take a photo, measure the door, and order a new one from your local dealer or online. ‘t forget to request a sweep.
It seems like the right side has a gap probably caused by rot, wear, or home settling. This won’t be fixed by a sweep. Consider using a small piece of wood or similar material to cover the hole. Another option is a foam-filled draft item.
I think this is the way to go
So, this door sweep is made of extruded aluminum with a brush sweep, not stamped. It seems like the door swings outwards, right? That’s a bit unusual. Make sure to install it carefully and precisely. And like someone else mentioned, check with the door manufacturer for an OEM door sweep or weatherstrip designed specifically for your door if possible. It’s a good option.
Yep, it swings outward. It’s actually an old door that I took from my in-laws’ front door and repurposed it for my home office.
