How can I hide or remove unsightly drywall tape strips in my newly purchased home to achieve a smoother wall finish?

I recently purchased a new home and noticed that many of the rooms have these strips on the walls (I’m guessing it’s drywall tape). I’m not a fan of how it looks, do you have any suggestions on how to hide or remove it to make the walls look smoother?
The tape has come loose, which is often due to inadequate mudding during prefill. This can occur in new homes or renovations due to seasonal movement.
