How can I fix cracked, bubbled, and shredding veneer on my dining table that I refinished last year?

Use lacquer thinner and a wide putty knife to remove the laminate.
Afterward, clean with mineral spirits, allow it to dry…it’s best to do it outside, and make sure to purchase two cans of lacquer thinner.
Use the lacquer thinner on the glue!
So, if removes the veneer and the glue, all I have to do is get a new piece of veneer and glue it on, correct?
Oh, , I’ve tackled my fair share of laminate projects. Taking off plastic laminate is definitely easier than thin wood veneer. It’s all about the angle – just flip the table on its side, apply some lacquer thinner, and let gravity do the work. Be patient and wear gloves, of course!
Thank you, , you’re a lifesaver!
Hey Julie, over at 1bidpro, here’s how you can fix that damaged veneer: ently remove the damaged veneer with a utility knife or chisel. Smooth out any leftover adhesive and imperfections. Find a replacement veneer that matches in color and grain. Apply wood glue to the new veneer and carefully press it into place. Trim any excess veneer, let the glue dry, and finish with a protective coat.🧐
