How can I fix a scratched hardwood floor caused by a leaking plant pot as a novice at home repair?

Hey there! I’ve been a lurker for a while but now I’ve got a DIY project I need help with. When we moved in, I had all the hardwood floors fixed up. Unfortunately, a plant leaked and the pot caused some pretty bad scratches on the floor. I didn’t realize until it was too late. Any tips on how I can fix this easily? I’m not great at home repairs so any advice is appreciated. Thanks so much!

Look up ‘s recommendation for using peroxide on wood floor stains. We’ve had success with this method! Keep trying, Sis, don’t give up after the first attempt.

You can buff out the scratches slightly and then attempt to remove the stains with a cleaner or peroxide. Be cautious as it could harm the finish. I experienced this issue right after installing my hardwood floors and I was extremely upset.

Orange GLO is fantastic for concealing scratches. Rejuvenate stain markers can assist in restoring color if scratches have removed it.

I already have those markers, so I’ll give them a shot on the scratches after I remove the water stain. Appreciate it!

You should get in touch with the refinishes and see if they can touch this up. A professional can definitely handle it.

I’m trying to save some cash so I’m looking for DIY solutions on this page.

Do you know Old English is actually used for the scratches?
