How can I find solace in the midst of grief and finally tackle this long overdue project of staining cupboard doors?

My dad actually passed away last week. It’s been a tough time dealing with everything and spending time with family. We went to say our final goodbyes yesterday. Today, I finally decided to take a break and work on staining these cupboard doors that have been sitting there for months.
