How can I ensure these cheap vinyl floors last a couple of years on top of a slab without pulling off the trim?

So, do you think they should have taken off the trim before installing the cheap vinyl floors on top of the slab? I want them to last for a few years at least since it’s a landlord special kind of setup. Any tips on how to make that happen?
It seems like the flooring was done poorly by an inexperienced person… you can either tolerate it or redo it.
We’ve just been putting up with it, wasn’t sure if there’s anything I should be doing or keeping an eye on.
This flooring is a dead ringer for mine, installed in the same sloppy way by the landlord. We simply maintain them as best as we can and ignore how much I despise them until we have the funds to upgrade
Just wanted to mention that we made sure to use white caulk in areas where the gaps were particularly bad and where there was a risk of things getting underneath it, such as in the bathroom, kitchen, and by the doors.
The quarter round should’ve been taken out, flooring installed, then the quarter round put back. This looks like a shoddy job done by someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing.
Yeah, the quarter round should’ve been taken off. I typically take out/swap out all of the baseboard… quarter round just seems cheap.
I feel like it’s a bit lazy to just cover the floors without really improving them.
Just consider getting area rugs if you’re not up for starting over
If you have newer flooring, make sure it goes beneath the quarter round or base trim. Cutting corners will only cause problems in the long run. Remember, when it comes to home renovations, always aim to do things properly.
Wow, that looks pretty bad, but you could always consider using quarter round to outline your house and secure it in place. Not sure if it’ll improve the longevity, though.
There’s already quarter round installed on it.
To prevent moisture damage, try applying a line of caulk that matches the color of your floors. This could buy you some extra years. Use tape to keep the edges clean for a decent finish.
Place some rugs on top.
Wow, man, you should have removed that quarter round first. Maybe remove the quarter round, add a 1×2 strip, then put the quarter round back on. It will be a 3 level base trim.
That landlord is not very clever. I would add another run of 1/4 round against the other one. 😂
