How can I effectively remove Waterlox tung oil stain from my walls after a tape mishap, aside from using mineral spirits or resorting to painting?

The color from the Waterlox tung oil stain and finish turned out great, but I made a mess with the tape! It ended up all over the walls. I’m using mineral spirits to clean it up, and it’s kind of working. Any other suggestions on what I could try, or do you think painting over it is my only option now?
