Hey there! I recently picked up this gorgeous etched window hanging at an estate sale, but it’s got quite a bit of smoke damage. I’ve attempted to clean it by soaking it in vinegar and scrubbing it a few times, but the yellow stains just won’t seem to go away. Any other suggestions for getting it looking good as new?
For removing soot from a fire, Simple reen works extremely well. You could try applying it at full strength and letting it sit. Consider trying a gentle scrub with #0000 steel wool and soapy water on the unetched side.
Thanks! I already have Simple reen at home. Do you think it’s safe to use it on the wood?
