I guess if you’re thinking about completely redoing the tub area and surrounding space….. including demolition, debris removal, fixtures, plumbing, walls, basically everything new……. How much more would that cost?🤔
OR 450 to reglaze the current setup and call it a day.
You already need to remove the drain and valve trim to properly glaze it. This will require an additional 3 to 6 inches of drywall work around the tub and surround, along with notching some wall studs. Glazing is most beneficial when there is tile work involved, although its effectiveness can be debated
🤣🤣🤣 No, you actually DON’T lmfao. There’s no need for any of that. Simply need to remove a couple of trim rings, which only takes about 3 seconds Lol. You seem to either lack knowledge about glazing or had a terrible experience with a glazing company.
Yes, you definitely should. Leaving everything in place could lead to the glazing shattering due to the drain and tub movement. Some people have even damaged it by using snakes on the overflow/cleanout. The fixtures must be removed to do the job correctly.
Looks like that tub is straight out of the late 70s. I doubt the warranty is still valid. It’s possible that using a rubber bath mat caused it to retain water.
Glazing can be quite costly
Jeremy, I totally agree. If you’re thinking of replacing it next year, might as well not bother painting it.
Reglazing doesn’t cost much. At least not in my area. $450 for full tub and surround
You could replace the entire tub for 450

Sure thing haha. Hope you have a great night.
One more buckshot
Who’s taking a shower with cleats on? Haha
I’d look into who made that tub and check if they’ll honor the warranty. It seems like a defect.

Oh that’s disappointing.
A rubber bath mat can hide the damage
A rubber bath mat won’t pass a home inspection when it’s time to sell.
You might be amazed.
What’s with the buck shots in the shower? 🤔 Consider getting a new tub or reglazing it as a long-lasting solution
