How can I best frame and build a small patio in front of my converted greenhouse/art studio, considering the moist and shady soil of the PNW?

This wood shed was pretty run-down when I got it, but I managed to transform it into a greenhouse/art studio with some help from a handyman. It’s not perfectly level, but I did what I could to make it work.
I’m thinking of adding a small patio in front, nothing too big, just about four feet out from the door and the width of the front wall. I’m open to any suggestions for materials like concrete or pavers.
Any advice on how to frame it and what material would be best for my situation? I live in the PNW, so the soil around the greenhouse tends to be damp and shady.
Have you thought about grabbing a couple of good pallets and screwing them together to make a patio?
