How can I adjust the newly painted and hardware-equipped doors that are misaligned with the left one sticking out more than the right?

I recently painted these doors and added new hardware, but I’m having trouble getting them to align properly. The left one sticks out more than the right. Do you have any suggestions on how to adjust this?

Have you primed them before painting?

Same here, I agree the color seems a bit off to me too💁🏼‍♀️

Hey , it seems like a problem with the paint, not the actual painting. Deep colors can be challenging. What kind of paint are you using?

National Hardware N344-895 Folding Door Aligner, made of Steel with Zinc Plating, available at https://a.co/d/bxcXQ1B

I can’t quite figure out what’s going on from the picture. The bare edge of a door doesn’t give us many clues.

If the doors are bifolding, then either the top tracks or bottom pivots are likely misaligned.

Not all hardware is compatible with every type of door…

It would be helpful to have a clearer understanding of the situation. Are they sliding doors or folding doors?

Thomas Reed

Could you step back and snap another picture so we can get a clearer view of what’s happening? Try taking a photo with the doors open so we can also see the hinges.

Sarah Roberts

It looks like the bottom pivot on the left door is positioned further forward than on the right door. I think the top lines up but it goes out of alignment towards the bottom. The only other issue may be that the track wheel at the top of the door is different or drilled incorrectly too far back in the door.
