How can I achieve a vibrant red and high-gloss finish on my brick floor without making it too slick to walk on, like the one described by Anon in their DIY project?
Guess who’s back with the brick floor update? This time, I tried out the Valspar sealer that my neighbor recommended, and let me tell you, it was a breeze to apply on my own! I used a couple of coats with a handy extendable paint roller, and now I’m obsessed with the glossy finish. The sealer starts off looking a bit milky, which makes it easy to see where you’ve covered, but then it dries clear and shiny.
Honestly, my phone camera doesn’t do it justice – the red color is so much more vibrant now. And even though it’s high-gloss, the floor isn’t slippery at all. The texture of the brick and the wide grout still provide some grip, which is perfect. I can’t thank this group enough for encouraging me to take on this project. I’m not usually one for DIY, so I’m feeling pretty proud of myself right now!
