How can I achieve a smooth spray-like finish on a small area that was missed during the painting process in my basement?

I’m in the process of finishing up my basement and I’m now working on painting and adding trim. I realized that I missed a spot when spraying the ceilings, it’s this small area between some boxes with trim around them. Only a couple of inches will be visible once everything is finished.
Do you have any suggestions on the best way to achieve a smooth, spray-like finish for this specific area? Would a 1/4″ nap roller work, or is there another method you would recommend?
It happens every time in my experience. If you don’t mention it, others might not notice.
If you didn’t backroll, the results will be visible regardless. Unless you opt for a high-quality dead flat paint. Even then, there’s a chance it will still be noticeable. Using a foam roller is your safest option.
I personally applied the first coat of primer by hand, followed by two coats of flat white sprayed on top. There is a slight texture. I might test out a foam roller. Thank you!
Or…you could simply group them together, with a broader section in the middle.
Did Einstein combine them into one frame?
Hey Jeff, I noticed in your description that framing them out would result in a smaller space between them. I was thinking of suggesting using a wider piece of wood to bridge the gap instead. This way, it would cover the painted part. Hope that clears things up! 😉
Einstein Johnson here, I’ll be cutting them out with stainless steel pieces. If I could find a matching sheet to go between the two, that might work. Doubt I could pull it off though, might look a little funky. I painted a bit not too long ago, so I’ll check it out in the morning.
Got a clearer look at them before drywall. They’re all done, so no more framing needed.
