How can I achieve a double curtain look for my larger window without replacing my current single curtain rod?

Thanks for the help! It looks much better now. Check out the pictures in the comments.
I’m attempting to achieve a double curtain look by using a sheer curtain behind my existing one. It’s simple to do with my smaller window (last picture) using a tension rod, but with this larger window, hiding the rod is impossible because the window is deep.
I want to keep my current single curtain rod because I adore the finials, but I’m unsure how to add a second curtain without having to replace the entire rod. Any ideas?
Shift the curtain rod a little to the left of the window and place the curtains in front of the wall on that side, not the window. This way, you’ll have space for the sheer curtains.
I just added sheers to the middle of the same rod. The other curtains can still close almost all the way. I prefer to have lots of natural light.

I purchased an Add On rod. I haven’t tested it yet, but it’s designed to accommodate rods up to 1 inch and includes the necessary hardware for double rod installation.
I’m not sure if it’ll make a difference, but considering the price, it’s worth a shot! Check it out here: https://www.temu.com/goods.html?_bg_fs=1&goods_id=601099515057174&_x_sessn_id=xrio1nyl3o&refer_page_name=bgt_order_detail&refer_page_id=10045_1705250484949_l4eazgudyq&refer_page_sn=10045
I have the same curtains and a wooden rod that doesn’t slide well. These holders are a game-changer!
Have you thought about using a sheer shade instead?
Here’s how I’m using sheers… Consider extending the curtain rod further from the wall to achieve the desired look on the larger window. Try different placement options to see which one you love the most. I experimented with the largest window and found the perfect spot. I adore my curtains, especially the teal velvet ones 😊
Change the brackets holding the rods. Make sure to choose the right size for your current rod!
I use these transparent rods that rest nearly flat in the window frame. They sit directly behind my curtain rod, making them practically invisible.
Consider a tension rod for the sheer curtains within the window frame or opt for double rod brackets, which are available on Amazon. I personally use them and find them very user-friendly.
You have the option to grab a double rod and utilize your ends. They easily screw in and are typically universal.
Double rod
There are special double rods made for this exact purpose. You can find them at Home Depot.
Update: I just realized I should have used a double rod bracket 🤦♀️🤣 It really does look so much better now!
