Have you ever tackled the challenge of wiring a fire pump to a backup generator like we did at the Federal Courthouse in Orlando?

Oh yeah, that wire is tough to work with. It took 6 of us to pull 400 ft because of how heavy it is.
Rick orecki wow. I can’t even imagine 400 ft of it. It took 3 of us to handle the 150ft.
It was tough since we had to go above and then below, and then under a mezzanine to get to the fire pump panel
Rick orecki I feel sick
Aren’t those cables 2-hour fire rated?
Hey , I believe it’s a two-hour job. Is it MI or mineral insulated cable?
Hey, is that 100 amps, ?
4 runs at 150 feet, 4 runs at 175 feet, and 4 runs at 200 feet. Had to bust out the dremmel grinding wheel to remove the 1/8″ stainless shield. It was tough.
Oh, I had to bust out my oscillating tool to get it done, . Lol
Yeah, I recently used it instead of MI cable at a hospital.
It’s easy for stuff to get kinks. We used a pipe cutter to remove the armor.
Dealing with MI cable can be a real pain.
Really enjoys mi …. once it’s set up properly it looks fantastic…but dealing with a 13 core alarm cable is a pain
Can you confirm?
Wow, that stuff is pretty pricey! I remember having to install it once. It’s not very flexible.
Any idea where the connectors are for it?
You should try using 500 mcm mi cable for that
We ended up using 2-hour rated cable for the fire pumps on a temporary basis.
