Has anyone experimented with peel-and-stick wallpaper on paneled walls and had success without damaging the paneling upon removal?

Hey there! Thanks for having me here. I’m wondering if anyone has ever used peel-and-stick wallpaper on paneled walls. I’m curious if it causes any damage to the paneling when you take it off.
I feel like removing the face from modern paneling wouldn’t make much of a difference since it’s essentially just a paper facing. I have a feeling it could also cause issues with old wood paneling. However, old wood paneling is paintable. If you decide to go with peel-and-stick wallpaper, it might just peel off the paint (if anything). You can use Cirtistip to remove the paint if needed.
I appreciate it.
It would also seep into the grooves and lead to adhesion issues.
Do you know what type of paint finish is on your paneling?
I totally get what you mean, . I can’t stand the dark wood grain look either. It really darkens the room.
Hey , I’m not a fan of the dark wood grain appearance either. If you sand it down, make sure to apply a good oil-based undercoat before removing the sticky back paper.
