Has anyone encountered this unlabeled meter socket before, fed with 30 copper underground and supplying a 100 amp panel, and knows if it’s rated for 200 amps for a panel upgrade?

Has anyone come across this meter socket before? There’s no labeling on the inside. It’s getting power from 3/0 copper through a 2″ underground line. Then it connects to a 100 amp push Matic panel with 3/0 copper too. I was hoping the meter socket was rated for 200 amps so I could just swap out the panel. Does anyone have any information on these meters?

That size will only have a rating of 100A

Is the meter a class 100 or class 200?

My previous residence had a meter socket with a similar style. It was designed for a maximum of 100 amps

Leslie Fox

It’s specifically designed for 100 amps

You should make sure there’s a label inside.

With our meters you can take off the face panel without removing the meter. But you need to remove the ring, not the meter.

I bet , the utility could send someone to check the meter and amperage.
