Do you have any advice on removing 38 sq m of slate tiles along with 100 sq m of carpet for my home project?

Hey everyone,

So, I’ve got this project at home that involves removing 100 sq m of carpet, which I think I can handle. But I could use some advice on removing 38 sq m of slate tile. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

You can use a chisel bit on a roto hammer, or opt for a hammer, pry bar, and scraper for the task.

For removing tiles on concrete, I make use of my air compressor along with a budget-friendly Husky air chisel. It comes off easily. In case it’s on backer board, I cut it and slide a pry bar underneath. As for the carpet and padding, I cut them into 3-foot rolls and dispose of them in the trash bin. It took a couple of weeks but didn’t cost me anything.

We used an SDS drill with a chisel attachment to remove the tiles. When it came to the carpet, following a previous suggestion, we cut it into small rolls, loaded it in the car, and took it to the local tip.
