Do I need to strip the paint from my breeze block garage walls before applying tanking slurry to prevent damp and water ingress?

Hey there! So, I have this tanking slurry that I want to use on my garage to prevent damp and water from getting in. The walls are made of breeze block and have been painted with regular paint. Should I remove the paint before applying the tanking slurry, since it may have seeped into the bricks, or can I just go ahead and apply the slurry directly on top of the paint?
I had to Google breeze block, which is just a concrete block in the States. It’s important to prevent water from getting in from the outside. If it’s already painted, why not try using a sealing coating/paint like Drylok? Or whatever similar paint you prefer in your country.
Looks like you’re in a bit of a pickle! Remember to always check the installation instructions before applying water seal products over paint. I’ve run into the same issue myself. The product fills in the cracks nicely, but the adhesion is compromised and no manufacturer will warranty it. Has anyone else given it a shot? I’m curious about the results. Dealing with hydrostatic water pressure can be a real challenge!
