Do I need to completely strip and sand my kitchen cabinets again, or can I simply add a new coat of paint to change the color?

So a while back we spruced up our upper kitchen cabinets with that Valspar cabinet paint. It’s held up pretty well, but now there’s some chipping around the knobs. I’m thinking of giving them a whole new color instead of just touching them up. Do you think I need to strip and sand them all over again, or can I just slap on another coat of paint?
Yes, unfortunately you would need to strip all the paint off. Did you clean, sand, and prime them first? The issue is likely because the paint sold in stores isn’t designed for cabinets and can’t withstand hand oils
You shouldn’t need to strip them completely. You can sand and prime, then spray over that
Just prime and paint, all you have to do is wipe it down with water
A picture showing peeling/chipping around the knobs would be useful, not just a picture of a can of paint as you might need to fill that in first.
