Considering refinishing your bath with an attached tub enclosure, but hesitant to replace due to uncertainty about the condition of the walls – any suggestions?

Hey there, I’m thinking about refinishing my bathtub with an attached enclosure, but I’m a bit hesitant to replace it since I’m unsure of what the walls will look like. Any advice or thoughts on how to approach this?
If you’re concerned about the walls, that might actually be a good reason to replace instead of just covering it up 
Thanks for getting back to me. Not so much about the condition, but more about removing the tub since it seems to have been installed with glue. I’m concerned it might damage the drywall.
