Can the bath fixture be replaced without removing the bottom panel of the tub, just from the top where the fixtures are located?

Sorry, but there’s a nut at the base. Even if you managed to remove it, how would you connect the new valve to your water sources?
Definitely not. Absolutely not. That’s it…
Regrettably, that’s a no.
I’m thinking we could switch out the handles since they screw on top, but we’d need to match the brand and model of the faucet. The spout can’t be replaced from above. Best of luck!
Otcha – appreciate all the help!
You might be able to remove a square section to reach the plumbing, then put in a panel for easier access.

Definitely not.

We should really get a clearer picture of the front. It seems like there might be some kind of access screw on the left side.

Nope. The panel is there for maintaining your current fixture or upgrading to a new faucet. 👍
Someone just applied some caulk to the panel, but you do have a panel. If it only takes 5 minutes to recaulk once you’re done, there’s no need to make things harder for yourself from the start.
