Can someone provide advice on where to place hinges for a gate in my privacy fence, as I am unsure and need guidance in this matter?

Hey there! I need some help turning this part of my privacy fence into a gate. I’m not sure where to put the hinges… any advice would be greatly appreciated. I hope this request is okay. I just moved in so please excuse the weeds. Thanks in advance!
You could simply cut the fence off right after the post and just before the next post. After that, you can attach hinges and a latch to those ends, but keep in mind that it would only open outwards.
What are the measurements for the width of this area? Is there another access point to the yard? Can large objects fit through the opening?
It’ll be necessary to include two additional posts. Remove a segment and transform it into a gate.
Put a post behind the black trash can, then remove the horizontal cross members to create a gate frame, attach the hinges to the post, and install a latch on the existing post near the house.
