Can someone identify and instruct me on fixing the unidentified object on my hallway ceiling near the bathroom?

Hey, can anyone help me figure out what this thing is hanging from the ceiling in the hallway outside my bathroom? It’s definitely not inside the bathroom, but I’m not sure how to fix it. Any ideas?
To me, it looks like dust bunnies but it could be mildew. If simply dusting it off doesn’t work, try lightly spraying it with Tilex (just be careful with your eyes and protect the floor).

You know, a mixture of water and Dawn dish soap could also do the trick. Those spots seem like they could be from humidity, and I bet they would come off with a good wash.
So, is this your new place? When did you first notice these marks? I’m wondering if someone may have covered up water stains or steam. Also, do you have a ventilation fan in your bathroom? If you do, check the attic to ensure the vent is properly connected and not just hanging there. It seems like the stains might have been there and painted over, causing them to show through. If we knew more details, we could offer better advice.

Try spraying with RMR followed by oil-based Kilz to prevent mold stains. Make sure to investigate the source of moisture, whether it’s from HVAC, inadequate insulation, or a leak.
