Can I simply paint over the discoloration on my old bathroom ceiling due to humidity, or do I need to replace it entirely?

I’m in the middle of a bathroom remodel and noticed some discoloration on the old ceiling. Since it’s a humid environment, I’m wondering if I can just paint over the discoloration or if I should remove the ceiling and start fresh. Any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance!
Apply kilz oil-based primer on both the ceiling and walls
You have the option to apply the appropriate paint on top of it. Just be cautious that it isn’t still wet
Just remember to choose the correct type of paint and everything should turn out well
I’ll make sure to follow along!
Applying Kilz primer first before painting should work well
Yeah, just apply Kilz and you’re all set
By the way, the purple hue really brings out the yellow on the ceiling, making it stand out even more.
Just lightly sand the surface, then wipe it down with a damp rag. Let it dry before priming with alkyd primer/sealer and then paint with your chosen product.
Take care of any necessary repairs while the plaster professionals are around. Prime and paint afterwards.
Clean with bleach, vinegar, or mold cleaner. Then use Kilz like many have suggested. Finish with a good quality paint
