Can I remove a part of the parchment and attach treated wood as a kickplate under the screen porch which has been repaired twice already?

Do you mind if I trim part of this paper and attach a piece of treated wood as a kickplate? It’s under a screened porch. I’ve already repaired it twice.

Just attach a Brass kick plate to the door.

Kick plate or threshold? A kick plate would be a simple off-the-shelf metal of your choosing.
