Can I moisture wrap over reverse board and batten siding to prevent rot, or should I replace it entirely with new siding and wrap the studs?

Hey, thanks for connecting! So I’ve got this camp with reverse board and batten siding that’s seen better days. I’m thinking of turning it into a year-round home eventually. Do you think it’s possible to add moisture wrap over the existing siding, then put on some foam and new siding on top? Or should I just start from scratch and wrap the studs instead? Any advice would be much appreciated!
Definitely consider the rb&b as a protective layer
