Can anyone recommend a specific tool for tightening a closet door handle that resembles a type of nut?

I’m here trying to fix a closet door handle and it seems like a type of nut needs tightening. I reached out to the company we got it from and they don’t carry it anymore. Does anyone have a suggestion for the right socket or tool I could use to tighten this?
Try putting a screwdriver in those slots and turning it clockwise… or not!
You’ll need a hammer and a screwdriver for this task.
Something similar to this.
Is this where the handle goes on the back? Can you demonstrate how the handle connects to the door? What’s the brand name? It’s hard to give accurate advice without this information.
To remove it, simply grab your needle-nose pliers, insert them into the two slots at an angle, and then tighten them.
So it seems like that piece is a wall anchor, and the part attached to the wall is called an escutcheon plate. The lengthy segment is inserted into the wall similar to a drywall anchor, and the plate is screwed on top.
Yep, just grab a small flathead screwdriver and a hammer, or use your palm.
I ended up creating one using a 1/2 inch black pipe because the ones we initially received had plastic tools that kept breaking whenever we tried to tighten them down, causing the Escalon to stay stuck in place.
A pair of angled nose pliers should be able to get the job done for you.
Any locksmith should always have one of those little ‘tools’ that come with these types of locks. I’ve thrown away quite a few of them, but I’m pretty sure I have some lying around in my toolbox. Getting your hands on the tool shouldn’t be too difficult. If I ever needed one, I’d just head over to the hardware store where I usually get my locks and they’d most likely provide me with one. I work on hanging doors and installing locks for a living.
