I need to replace this laminate piece. Any suggestions on what I should do next? Check out the photos to see where I removed it and the piece itself. I would really appreciate some help with this!
Give the raw wood a gentle sanding then use contact cement to spray both the wood and laminate. Let it sit for a short while before firmly pressing it into place
Hey , thanks for getting back to me! Can you tell me which type of laminate to buy and where I can purchase it?
You have the option to purchase laminate individually at Lowes
Thank you, !
I believe it’s referred to as ‘edge banding’. Contact countertop installers for it. My suggestion would be to first repair the substrate, the particle board under the laminate, with epoxy. Use a wire brush to remove loose particles, then apply a coat of epoxy to stabilize the particle board before applying the edge banding. Look for self-adhesive edge banding if possible
I’ll be sure to search for that. Thanks a lot!
Not sure what tools you have, but forget about the laminate. Simply cover it with a piece of wood trim cut to fit. Use 1/4″ thick lattice, 1x pine, etc. stained and clear coated
You can purchase an edge kit for laminate countertops, and that style is probably still available. Just make sure to use spray adhesive or some are glued and heat applied or ‘ironed on’
I really appreciate it! 😊
A friend sent you a link to a product on Home Depot that they believe you’d like to check out.

It’s known as an end cap, with many styles to choose from
Hey , this seems fantastic! Appreciate it!
Hey , I’m planning to visit this weekend to take a look. It seems pretty straightforward!
