Can anyone identify the type of peeling coating on my basement wall and suggest a suitable replacement?

Hey, guys! Check out my basement wall – it was peeling so I decided to scrape it. Does anyone have any idea what kind of coating this is and what I should use to cover it up? Thanks so much in advance!

I’m not certain what type of coating it is, but it’s truly impressive. If it’s simply peeling away, it indicates a possible moisture problem. Drylock, available at Lowe’s, can solve all your issues. You can then repaint it in any color you desire without further problems.

Hey there! Avoid using drylok on your walls, especially if there are moisture problems. It can end up trapping water in the block. It’s important to address the root cause of the issue. Personally, I think drylok should be prohibited.
