Can any experienced drywallers provide guidance on achieving a textured finish – sponge or roller method?

Hey there, first time posting. I’m wondering if there are any drywall experts who can help me out with a texture technique. I’m not sure if it’s done with a sponge or roller. Thanks in advance!
So it seems like the wall was taped and sanded before applying a “skim” coat. Then, while the coat was setting up, it was brushed randomly with either a wide paint brush or a small hand counter brush.
Try out a few different brushes to see which one works best. It’s a good idea to practice on a piece of scrap first.
Finding the right timing for brushing can be tricky. If the texture is too aggressive, you can lightly sand the surface.
‘t forget to have some fun with the process!
You know, thinking about it now, wasn’t even considering a brush. But it does make sense.
Practice makes perfect! 😉
The texture is achieved using a brush.
