Check out the Bridgeport catalog for a wide selection of items up to 2 inches. Make sure to list all changeovers. For sizes beyond 2 inches, consider using a conduit fitting like a C or LB type to transition from RS, EMT, etc.
Interesting. I’ve been using gr couplings for this for over 40 years. Never had a job rejected by an inspector because of it. Seems like nit-picking to me.
Isn’t it crazy that a coupling isn’t included for transition in the UL? But most likely, it’ll still be accepted by almost everyone for a long time. Except maybe on some major state projects. Just wanted to share in case someone encounters a strict inspector.
They are not approved for transitioning according to the manufacturer’s testing and UL listing. They are only meant for connecting threaded pipes. You must use a transition fitting approved by the manufacturer to switch from RMC/IMC to EMT/flex

This place looks just like that food spot in west Chicago that serves the mcrib. Ugh, worst place ever for repairs, especially when the mcrib is back haha

Emt and then seal it up tight

Those set screw EMT connectors are not very impressive
A plumber probably took out the supports. Happened to me multiple times. They really don’t like us 😅

That support system seems pretty codependent. It’s like that in a lot of relationships

The problem I see with using a rigid coupling as a transition fitting is this: there’s a gap inside the coupling with the threads exposed. Another issue is that the fittings you screw into the coupling may not be as secure as with a locknut or a conduit with tapered threads.
We’ve installed SO with strain relief and twist locks in industrial settings.
I wouldn’t try that with rigid, let alone thinwall!
Is a good man
I bet they’ll release some rod tomorrow
Rigid couplings should not be used as changeover. Use fittings designated for changeover.
Hey , could you please share the listed fittings?
Hey there, !
Hey, !
Hey, did you know that it’s called a o From? You learn that around day 3.

Day three sounds interesting 🤣
Perhaps on the fourth day
I think I missed that
Could you please demonstrate that part of the code?

Wow, 23 years later and this is the first time I’m hearing about it.

Hey, up here in Canada we can use a coupling to switch to other wiring methods, as long as the wires are continuous without splices.
Hey, this applies to cables and not LFMC
