I am so excited to finally share the completed project with you! We used a ton of reclaimed Kansas barn beams and some reclaimed 2x4s for this one.

It took us months to put this all together, but the attention to detail and skill really shine through! I adore the saw marks and unique character of the wood, especially how it complements the wrought iron stair spindles.

Big shoutout to everyone who helped out. We really take pride in finding the best reclaimed lumber out there, and it’s amazing customers like Steve and Tammy that make projects like this one come to life!

It might look nice, but it wouldn’t meet code requirements in Michigan, and likely in other states too.

If a 6” sphere fits through here, then it doesn’t meet the requirements.

Ruby Fields

Says 4″.

Troy Long

Definitely not in this spot. There should be 4” between ballusters and 6” here according to IRC.

Troy Long

But no matter what, it won’t pass an inspection.

Ruby Fields

You are absolutely right.

Tiffany Austin

The design is impressive, but the spacing between elements is too wide.
