Hey, I began working in the industry back in 1978, at least that’s what I was informed.
Reg Turner I began my career in 1974
They’re actually called box holdits. Madison is the official brand name, and battleship are informal terms based on their shape. I’ve been working at an electrical wholesale store for the past 50 years!
I’ve been with Union Electric for half a century. I’ve always referred to them as box supports

My first boss at work referred to these as Madison’s. That’s what I picked up from him. Later on, I found out they are also known as F clips. Although battleships is a new term to me, I can understand why they’re called that now. 👍
