Will, those have been out of production for a while now. I remember spending hours searching for them two or three years back. I’ve seen them sell for $60-$100.
Hey , that’s why I’m asking! I saw some on eBay for around $1200 and also found a few knock-off brands that are totally useless.

I find that a lot of Klein hand tools are not that great, but I still have a soft spot for Klein.

Klein tools have become subpar. Ever since they teamed up with Home Depot, the quality went downhill. ive these a try, you won’t want to go back: KNIPEX Tools 13 72 8 Forged Wire Stripper, 8-Inch https://a.co/d/9CkHlM
I’ve gone through a few pairs in the past few years. These cutters stay sharp for a long time and can effortlessly cut through MC or 1/0 copper. The 6/32 8/32 cutters are really precise. It’s just a better product.

I really like using this particular set for 12/2 and 14/2 wires.

In my 35 years working as an electrician, I have never actually used a wire stripper. I’ve always relied on a Linesman or utility knife.
I’ve worked on everything from low voltage to high voltage, in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. I’ve done deck jobs, underground pipe jobs, rough-ins to finishes, and more. Projects have included Burger Kings, Mcald’s, Walgreens, Dollar Trees, raised floor computer rooms, brownstones, pre-war flats, and the list goes on.
I didn’t say I never stripped or spliced wire. I said I never used a wire stripper. Always used linesman’s or utility knife. So what are you asking exactly??
I totally agree with you! Inspectors can be pretty particular about the smallest details sometimes, especially when it comes to government projects and elevators for some reason. When it comes to stripping branch CKTs, I make sure to use side cutters or diagonal cutters to carefully remove just the last 1/64 of the installation instead of tearing it off. And for larger wire, I use a pipe cutter to shore it and rip it off. It’s funny, I know some older folks who still pencil in the #12 AW wire! 😄
My first boss, Max, was a real old-school guy back in the late 80s and early 90s. He always said, “If you can’t do it with a pliers and screwdriver, you can’t do it. And if you can’t do it, I don’t need you.”
Unfortunately, it seems that Klein is starting to manufacture more products in China.

Back in the 60s, I started using Klein and continued to use their tools even after I retired. I still have my first pair of pliers after 60 years of using Klein.
Could you let me know where you acquired these?
Will probably go to Lowe’s.

What do you do on a typical day as an electrician? Just curious!

I lost 3 strippers in like two weeks, so I had to resort to a razor pretty quickly! 😂
Something tells me you were still working with wire and connecting them. Whether you had the right tool or not

I can be a bit clueless sometimes 😂 I just graduated yesterday and just woke up feeling a bit rough

I actually own a similar set, haha I thought mine was unique, it even has a hole from the welding process where it got a bit too hot lol
